Barbara is a design fiction, set in the near future when a young Barbara decides driven by technological advancement to grow fur all over their body to rebel against the ethics of the fast fashion industry, eventually becoming more than human. Being confronted with the world around them, Barbara loses themselves in daydreams and fantasies of unstoppable growth, continuously confronted with their father's influence.

The illustrations extend the text by Garðar Eyjólfssonand and allow insights into the perspective of a young rebel-minded. The drawings continuously depict processes of growth and transformation which interact with the words of the novel as an entrance into the hairy world of Barbara.
